There were merits and honours galore for the students, with pride of place going to Sarah Flood of the Grade 4 Brass class who received high honours for her efforts on the day on the tenor horn.

The adjudicator on the day was very impressed with the standard of the candidates and gave particular praise to the teachers involved on the level of preparation of all the students.

Director of the School of Music Brian Murphy said: "It was a great set of results to get, particularly as I collected them from the airport on the morning of a teacher's meeting in the band!"

"I can't praise our teachers enough, all of whom are giving up their spare time to teach these young kids and train their musical skills for the future. Well done to all the students involved too".

Teachers involved in the grades this time around were Stephen Murray, Barry Maher, Emma Hearty and Fiona Shields.
