Recorder class complete Christmas performance and exams

by Brian Murphy

It has certainly been a busy time for Drogheda Brass Band's youngest class, the recorder group, under their tutors Yvonne Cunningham, Mark Nutley and Rachel Flood.

They have just completed a Christmas carol concert in the bandrooms for their parents and guests, having practiced very hard over the last number of weeks for the performance.

But more importantly, they have also just finished their first official exam, as the band entered the pupils in the Trinity Guildhall Preliminary Theory Grade.

Michael Plunkett was scrutineer for the day and did a fantastic job and now the students can enjoy their Christmas break with the results expected early next month.
