Christmas Concert 2004 Preview

Drogheda Brass Band take to the stage at the Droichead Arts Centre for the final time this year on Wednesday December 15, with a fantastic concert lined up to entertain the crowd.

The Mary Simpson Stage School are the guest artists for the final concert in a highly successful series for the local brass band. And with their own shows coming up on December 22nd and 23rd in Greenhills school, the Mary Simpson Stage School are sure to be in top form for the brass band concert.
With schools in Drogheda, Dundalk, Ardee, Duleek and Oldcastle, the stage school caters for children aged between four and 19 and teach every type of dancing, along with singing and drama.
For the concert, Mary Simpson herself will perform a few tunes, and will also feature some of the younger dancers at her school, aged eight and nine.

Her daughter Kim Keogh (18) is just back from an award-winning performance in Prague and the audience will get to hear the song that won Kim her first international prize. The senior dancers will also join Kim on stage.
Drogheda Brass Band, under their conductor Michael Maher, will play through some favourite Christmas tunes on the night, along with a number of old and modern classics.
Trombonist Brian Murphy is to be featured as soloist in the popular Irish classic "Carrickfergus" while Michael Plunkett, who recently won the National Senior Solo competition, will play on the night also.
And with Mary Simpson promising spot prizes for audience members who sing along with her, itıs sure to be a great night's entertainment!
Tickets are still available for the concert from any member of the band, or at the door on the night. The concert kicks off at 8pm sharp so arrive early!
