Christmas morning carol playing in local hospitals
by Brian Murphy
Over 20 members of Drogheda Brass Band continued the fine tradition on Christmas Day of playing carols in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and The Cottage Hospital.
The tradition has been on-going for many years now and it was great to see such a big number make the effort on a cold and white Christmas morning to gather at the band before making their way to the hospitals.
They played a variety of Christmas carols on all the floors of the Lourdes which went down very well with the patients, especially on the children's ward where even Santa Claus himself decided to lend some cheer!
