1999 Annual General Meeting

The Drogheda Brass Band held its Annual General Meeting for 1999 last Monday night, the 22nd of March.
The biggest change to the organisation of the band this year was the resignation of Brian Murphy from the position of Band Secretary. Having held the position for the past three years, he has taken a position on the band committee and a new position as band sergeant. After some deliberation past band secretary Michael Plunkett agreed to take the post - having been secretary in the past and possessing a considerable knowledge of the banding world, there is no doubt that the band is still in good hands.
Tony Collins will remain as president of the band and Stephen Smith stays on as vice-president. Other changes to the band's committee included the appointment of Trevor Johnston as new assistant secretary and Neal Kierans' appearance as first time committee member. With Tony Flood also rejoining the committee, it would appear that the Drogheda Brass Band has both youth and experience guiding it forth into the next millennium...
