Never heard of us? Unfamiliar with a "brass band"? Read on to discover who we are and what we do.
Who?
We are a non-profit amateur voluntary organisation; a group of people who assemble to play music with brass instruments in the British "brass band" style. We pay subscriptions which go towards the upkeep of the band rooms and new instrument purchases.
We're among the most successful and accomplished bands in Ireland - thirty members who attend two hour rehearsals twice a week under the supervision of musical director Michael Maher. We have both experience and an average age of just twenty-one years on our side...photograph of the band

What?
The establishment of a School of Music in 1981 has seen us flourish as a centre of excellence in the teaching of music to young people. Currently, six teachers give instruction to 65 pupils who attend classes in preparation for their Guildhall School of Music examinations.
In 1994 and 1996, we won the Senior Section of the National Band Championships. In 1999 we won the Championship Section of the National Band Championships and travelled to Birmingham, England, to compete in the European Brass Band Championships...read about Birmingham
