New national brass band champions Drogheda Brass Band are in the mood to celebrate and have organised a concert and party to mark the occasion!
Having been crowned champions of Ireland at the National Brass Band Championships held in New Ross recently, the band are going to celebrate in style with their ‘Showstoppers’ concert at Droichead Arts Centre on Friday June 1, at 8pm.

And they are sending out an open invitation to friends, family, former members and guests to their celebration party in Corrigans pub on George’s Street after the concert at 10pm.
There will be a DJ on the night and finger food and the chance to see the trophies the band won, along with the chance to meet the current crop of national champions themselves!
The senior band will play a selection of tunes, along with a trombone solo by first trombone player Brian Murphy, “Ev’rytime You Say Goodbye”. The band will also play the two pieces which won them the national title, Peter Graham’s “Gaelforce” and “Oceans” by Goff Richards. The youth band will then play a selection.
The concert starts at 8pm and admission is €5 – arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Admission to the after-show party in Corrigans is free and the band would be delighted to see as many former members and friends as possible at both the concert and party.
